You can enable dark mode on android 9 Pie using this automatic based on time of the day using developer mode settings. First of all enable developer mode on android 9 Pie using below given settings.

Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel from the top of the screen and tap the Settings gear icon.

Step 2: Tap System.

Step 3: Tap about phone.

Step 4: Scroll down up to end of the page and tap the Build number 7 times or tap until appear “you are now a developer!” on your Android Pie 9.0
