Here’s how to stop apps from running in the background on Android 9 Pie. How to Stop Android Apps From Running in the Background on Android Pie 9.0
First of all search apps running in the background that quickly drains battery and usage more data. You can see individually app data usage in Android Pie 9.0 using advanced battery usage settings.
Step 1: Swipe down notification shade and tap the Settings gear icon.
Step 2: Tap Battery.
Step 3: Tap Three vertical dots (Menu) at the upper right side corner.
Step 4: Tap Advanced battery usage.
Now you can see apps data usage in your Android devices.
Step 5: Find app usage more battery and tap on it.
Step 6: Tap Background restriction under Manage battery usage.
You can see a pop-up message on your device: Restrict app?
Step 7: Tap Restrict.
Now this restricted app can’t use the battery in the background and save battery life in your Android devices.
Step 8: To remove the restriction, tap Background restriction again.
Step 9: Tap Remove.
How to Close All Apps in Android 9 Pie
Step 1: Tap the Recent apps button (Right side) from the navigation bar menu.
A list of recently used apps or running apps views in your device.
Step 2: Swipe right side until see Clear all.
Step 3: Tap on Clear all.

Settings > Network & internet > Data usage > App Data usage under the Mobile section > Select the app usage more data > Toggle off Background data
