It means your S22 is dustproof and can be submerged in clean water for a specified time. Different companies have different parameters for this. For example, the iPhone 14 Pro can be submerged up to 6 meters for 30 minutes and has an IP68 rating, while the S22 Ultra can be submerged up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and has the same IP68 rating.
However, these tests are done in a controlled environment with no regard to the salinity or alkalinity of water. In real life, you can’t swim with your phone on a beach or swimming pool.
