Set Location mode as High accuracy to fix Note 8 GPS issue

Step 1: Open Settings in your Galaxy Note 8/9

Step 2: Tap on Location

By default disable GPS on your galaxy Note 8 devices. Enable GPS in your Note 8 device.

  1. The location setting is not there under settings on my Verizon Note 8. Also there is absolutely option anywhere to turn GPS on or off. I have had numerous Android phones and am very familiar with using the GPS on/off function. The closest I have found was under settings/google/account services where I can find the Location option and in there is an Improve Accuracy option but it only controls wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning.
