When you activate emergency SOS on your Android device, it automatically shares your emergency information with your contacts or calls emergency services in critical conditions like car crash detection, medical help, etc.

Press the power button 5 times or more to turn on Emergency SOS on your Google Pixel devices.

How to Enable Emergency SOS on Your Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7 (Android 14)

Open your Pixel’s app drawer and tap Settings app.

Scroll down and tap the Safety & emergency.

Tap the Emergency SOS.

Tap the Turn on Emergency SOS button to activate it.

Tap the Settings gear icon and choose how to start the Emergency SOS mode in your Pixel devices. The given options are available.

Touch & hold to start action: Touch & hold in the circle for 3 seconds to start the emergency actions.

Ensure you have a SIM card for car crash detection use in your Pixel. The car crash detection feature doesn’t work if activated in Airplane mode or when Battery Saver is turned on. You can see your phone will vibrate, sound an alarm, and ask if you need the help message on your phone screen and aloud.

To help, respond within 60 seconds to call emergency services. It will share your live location and other emergency details with the emergency service number in your country.
